An Unweary Power Lurks In A Beautiful Mind
The Ron Howard/Russell Crowe collaboration A BEAUTIFUL MIND is both inspiring and eerie. Part of the reason for this is that it is based on a true story revolving around the latent power of the human mind. Can all people tap into the hidden potential of the human mind that John Nash possesses? Considering the fact that Nash-s mental abilities derive from his severe paranoid schizophrenia, many would likely not wish to attain such skills at such a cost.
However, the beauty of the film displays the notion that a handicap can also be the source of great ability. In many ways, such a message is inspiring. The audience feels a great sense of sympathy towards John Nash and the many different predicaments he finds himself.
An audience can sympathize with John Nash because all people understand that life sometimes can be unfair and those that are different in some way can be treated cruelly. Those that are different sometimes may be unique because they maintain special talents others are not capable of manifesting. Often, they will suffer for the goal of serving a greater good which is, ultimately, the path the John Nash follows. This notion of serving the greater good allows the themes of A Beautiful Mind to be quite inspiring.
